THE LAST VOYAGE OF DONALD CROWHURST
By David van Belle and Eric Rose | Directed by Eric Rose
An ocean is not an ocean. In 1969, British entrepreneur Donald Crowhurst appeared poised to win the prestigious Golden Globe Race, a solo, non-stop around-the-world sailing competition. As he entered the final leg, however, organizers suddenly lost all contact with him. His boat was found adrift in the mid-Atlantic two weeks later in sound condition, but with no sign of its captain. When they read Crowhurst’s logs, a shocking new story emerged… Using a palette of live video projection and constructed image, The Last Voyage of Donald Crowhurst is a multimedia exploration of the art of deception and an unsettling journey into the deep waters of a human soul. Based on a true story. Winner of six Betty Mitchell (Calgary Theatre) Awards.
