8 BIT: THE VIDEO GAME DANCE SHOW

Created and performed by Kunji Mark Ikeda and Richard Lee Hsi

Two step-brothers get trapped in a killer video game and need to dance their way out! This wild ride through a pixelated wonderland of some of the most iconic video games, from Pong to Mario to Fortnight, is woven together with heartfelt messages of overcoming adversity, anger management, and teamwork. Audiences can expect the humour and sense of play of a fast-paced comedy, as well as the athletic and inventive physicality they’d see in a high-octane contemporary dance show.

Length: 76 minutes, no intermission | Recommended for all ages

Rider available upon request | Available 2020 and beyond

“Ikeda and Lee are both hugely likeable, relaxed, playful actors as much as they are sizzling dancers…” Stephen Hunt, Calgary Herald

“8:Bit manages to integrate contemporary dance into an accessible, funny, engaging performance. It’s a production for everyone, not just the gamers.”  Jenna Shummoogum, Theatre critic/blogger
